‘In Plain Sight’

 A friend of mine I grew up with, went to high school with, flatted with and who was the best man at my wedding, now travels the world working with big name artists and entertainers (he films the artists at the events). He once told me a story that really struck home as an illustration of Satan’s methods of operation, especially in these last days. The story goes like this:

 A World-renowned magician’s final act on one of his tours was to appear in the middle of the audience after being in another trick on stage. How did he do it? He created such a mesmerizing spectacle on the stage that he was able to jump down the front of the stage and leisurely stroll past the audience in plain sight, walking straight past them up the aisles, as they were too busy watching the events on the stage. When it all died down, he’d ‘appear’ amongst them to the sound of gasping admiration in that he was able to conjure such an incredible trick

 Lately I’ve realized that as Adventists, perhaps we’ve also fallen for a similar trick. It seems to me that final events are unfolding before our eyes, but we’re so mesmerized by the media, that they have little effect. Think about it; movies have been programming us over the years that ‘terrorists’ are a threat. Movies have also been made that sensationalize natural and other disasters so that when they do occur, they have less effect. Watching it on the news seems to desensitize us to an extent as well, consider the catastrophic events of the Tsunami in Thailand, Sumatra and SriLanka; they are almost a distant memory, despite the fact that over 227, 000 people died

Inevitably some ‘expert’ or scientist assures us right after these disasters occur that it’s all natural process, and nothing out of the ordinary, and the masses (including us) let the events recede into our subconscious minds

The events long waited for in our church are actually occurring and perhaps we're missing it, while watching it?

Music Industry

 In fulfillment of this, more and more people are researching the occult in the music industry as they notice some of music’s biggest names using occult gestures and symbols at ceremonies, in film clips, and on their clothing. Many openly confess their affiliation with occult societies on stage and in their lyrics. Even ceremonies are performed in front of audiences, ‘IN PLAIN SIGHT’

As Christian musicians now more than ever we have an obligation to use our talents for Christ and not the prince of this world..

 The movie and music industry seem to get darker and darker each year, with occult themes and imagery becoming the norm. As people that believe in Christ, maybe it’s time we ‘unplugged’?
